For years now, DDoSing has become a familiar problem. Unfortunately, in the year of 2016, denial of service attacks have sky-rocketed. As a person who works in internet security, I had been asked by friends what is a good DDoS Protected VPS Hosting…since I have already did my homework, I mine as well share with everyone so that you can keep your server online. I have used a lot of servers in my time, never has it been so fun to test servers for DDosing. I tested a total of 8 companies… It really was not even close to who was the victor, unfortunately. I hope more companies can prevent against DDoS attacks in the future. I have used the following host for a full month, sent A LOT flood of packets, and did some other “ethical hacker” things too. I also talked with some of the tech support agents to see if they could get my website back up once it was DDoSed, these are my results.
My #1 Review:
Hudson Valley Host
Out of the eight VPS providers that I tried, I would personally recommend this one as the best. In fact, I have continued to use them even after my “DDoS testing”. There are a couple of reasons why they stand out, including customization, price, ease of use and fantastic customer support.
They are stellar. If you are getting DDoSed, it is critical that you can get in touch with someone. They go above and beyond with this. They have the standard support ticket system, where you can submit a ticket and receive a response within minutes (They have responded to a ticket of mine within 3 minutes at 5:30 AM). On top of that, they have a toll-free phone number. Also, they have live chat support. Lastly, the owner of the company (Ernie), actively participates on web hosting forums, which is always a plus as he stays on top of technology.
Why I recommend them:
Now, before I tell you why they are great for DDoS, let me tell you a little about their hosting plans. They have A LOT of servers, however, for the purpose of this article, I am going to write only about their VPS’s. They have self-managed and managed VPS’s. I would only recommend the self-managed to experienced users. The self-managed VPS’s are much cheaper, however you do not get cPanel, you have to monitor the server yourself, and deal with any security issues. For the purpose of DDoS Protected VPS Hosting, I would personally recommend that everyone choose the managed VPS.
Looking into the managed VPS’s:
Each of these servers comes with Web Host Manager (WHM), which allows you to individually modify each account on your server. With each individual account on your server, you get cPanel. Inside cPanel, you get the latest version of Softaculous, which allows you to easily install your favorite scripts, such as the popular WordPress.
Now the fun part. Each VPS node has a minimum of 32GB DDR3 ECC RAM, utilizing RAID-10. This allows for a speedy and reliable connection. The VPS’s have a 10Gbit enterprise connection to prevent medium-sized DDoS attacks. If someone really dislikes you, they will use a 10Gbit hit or higher on your website. Luckily, Hudson Valley Host allows you to upgrade to a 100Gbit connection if you deem to be that popular :).

I highly recommend Hudson Valley Host. With the power of their servers, it doesn’t matter if you hosting gameservers, VOIP, or are just unfairly targeted by DDoSer’s, they will be able to protect you.
